Thirteen had joined, but out of those, four others went to high court. On the direction of the high court, they resumed their duties at SMS hospital. Now, only nine doctors from SMS medical college are working with RUHS hospital."
RUHS Hospital requires a total of 132 professors, associate professors, assistant professors, and medical officers to function effectively. The medical college has requested the govt to provide 50 medical officers who have completed their post-graduation in various specialties to support the senior faculty at the hospital.
The official said numerous discussions have taken place at different levels to address the issue of obtaining senior faculty and doctors for RUHS hospital. Although the govt has declared its intention to develop RUHS as Rajasthan Institute of Medical Sciences, the shortage of faculty and doctors remains a significant obstacle.
