We had a nice time on the Tram and the view was great. We had to wait about 15 minutes, but it was under a shelter. Not much to do once you are on top, but I would recommend this activity!

This was a little gem near Old Town Albuquerque. For a very reasonable price, we got a clean, quiet, comfortable room near old town. I hadn't been to Old Town Albq. in many years and wanted to show my husband as we returned home to California. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, and the breakfast area super clean and nicely stocked with multiple choices for a simple, but adequate meal. As a bonus, there was a gas station next door, so we could gas up and grab a bag of ice when we left to go home.

I love science and history and this museum is a great combination of the two. They talk about different eras in nuclear science such as WWI, the Cold War, and modern days. I feel like I left there smarter than when I walked in.

I had read reviews that this was a must do and I agree. There is so much to learn about indigenous life and culture. This museum explores art, customs, folklore, and the history of the people going back centuries. The staff at the museum were very courteous and helpful. Although the museum is not huge, there is a lot to be learned

Because it was on our way we decided to stop by the check it. It was easy total of 2.2 miles hike to see the drawings. Most of them were marked with signs, but there were some without, keep your eye open to spot them. But having said that we would have not drive out of our way to just to see this site to ne honest.

We were lucky to go to the 51st year of the ABQ Balloon Festival. The themes were huge given New Mexico's Area 51 and the overlap with the annular eclipse (ring of fire). Because we were there the whole week, we watched weather and went earlier in the week. For us, that prevented us from having to contend with the eclipse traffic AND we lucked out because the balloons went up a lot earlier in the week, but they were unable to launch quite a few times as the week progressed.

That's the biggest piece of advice I can give - plan to stay the week and plan to go to at least one early morning launch and the glow up in the evening for the best experience. If you have the opportunity, it's worth it to go for the isolated Shapes launch, though that didn't happen for us because of the weather.

While you wait for the ballooning experience there are plenty of booths, including official Balloon festival tents to buy tchotchkes and to enjoy various different events. We enjoyed trying pinon coffee, sweets from a NM-based bakery, and a few New Mexican specific treats. The booths mostly consistent of overpriced stuff designed for hard core festival particpants, but the art booth is exceptional and there are a few hidden gems in the main area if you look closely.

Dress warm and in layers to have the best experience. The temperature varies greatly based upon the sunshine. You can expect cold temperatures before dawn and the temperature to drop during, though not significantly during the evening.

You can book balloon rides, but recommend doing that well in advance and understanding the policies if, in fact, weather prohibits launch.

We spent 2-3 hours and felt that was a sufficient as folks who just wanted the experience, but there is entertainment all around. We aimed for an earlier arrival and found that the parking lots were very, very well organized and parking was close We also to festival entrances. It was easy to buy day-of tickets, though most VIP experiences must be purchased well in advance.

It is also critical important to have something to sit on or to wear clothing for grass. Other than VIP experiences, there is very little seating and, out of courtesy, it is reserved for food patrons. You sit eat and go when you are finished. With that in mind, be prepared for time on the ground.

The ABQ BioPark Botanic Garden is a favorite spot for families. I thought it would only have desert plants, but brace yourself for the diversity that this botanic garden shows.

Large enclosures for animals and lovely layout. Free roaming peacocks made for a fun time. I'd definitely recommend grabbing a map at the front so you don't get lost lol. Huge park in the center filled with different types of birds where families had picnics and birthday parties.

We loved the NM museum of natural history and science. The animatronic dinosaur was so lifelike. Also other dinosaurs skeletons were amazing. Geology of NM was great. Don’t miss the gift shop.
