Steve Brodner is the first artist to be inducted into the Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame and also to be the recipient of the Herb Block prize.

The Herb Block prize is given for excellence in American satiric and political art.

The recipient of the Herblock Prize is asked to deliver a brief talk at the ceremony. This talk, given at the Library of Congress on June 4, 2024, discusses how the issues and causes of Herb Block’s life have never left. And how the ghosts of those battles haunt our world now more than ever.
