The virtuoso artist arrives for an outdoor summer concert at the NLI
Marina Maximilian, the virtuoso singer and musician, will be performing with her band at the National Library of Israel. Marina is one of Israel's most fascinating artists and she will be performing both new and old songs from different periods of her career. This is one of the most in-demand concerts in Israel!

The History of Arabic and Islamic Studies in Hungary
Beginning in the nineteenth century, a distinctive interest emerged among Hungarian scholars in Islam and Arabic studies. Dr. Kinga Dévényi, an independent scholar and former curator of the Goldziher and Kaufmann collections at the Library of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, will present the various motifs and trends behind this unique interest, along with some outstanding scholars who engaged in these studies. The lecture will also include an overview of the Ignaz Goldziher collection at the Library of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
The legendary Israeli singer-songwriter will perform an outdoor concert at the NLI
Alberstein's expansive repertoire includes over 60 albums recorded in Hebrew, English and Yiddish. This concert will combine old and new songs, songs about Israel and about faraway places, about the personal and the collective.
The onstage ensemble will include Chava, Eran Weitz (guitars and musical director) and two wonderful friends: Maya Belsitzman (cello and vocals) and Matan Ephrat (percussion and computer).

One of Israel's best rock bands in a live outdoor concert at the NLI
Knesiyat Hasekhel are a veteran Israeli rock band, formed in 1990 in the southern town of Sderot. Their name is a Hebrew translation of "The Church of Reason", taken from Robert M. Pirsig's Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.
Knesiyat Hasekhel's unique sound is influenced by British rock bands as well as traditional Moroccan music. They will be performing hits from the past three decades.
During the performance, the band will be hosting another brilliant Israeli musician, Dudu Tassa, whose own music represents a blend of Middle Eastern influences and western rock and pop. Don't miss this special concert!

Set in Italy in 1938 and inspired by a true story, this original musical tells a tale of love between the son of the Chief Rabbi of Florence and the daughter of an assimilated family. Against the turmoil of rising fascism and growing antisemitism in the Vatican, we learn of the decisions in love and life that both Jews and Christians make as these changes unfold.
