ULMAN, Raymond Leslie, Jr. – of Davison, MI, age 72, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 5 PM Monday, July 22, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Todd I. Frusti officiating. The family will receive visitors 2-5 PM Monday, July 22, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in Ray’s memory.

Ray was born in Flint, MI on April 1, 1952, son of the late Raymond and Jeanette Ardele (Garrow) Ulman, Sr. He was a graduate of Davison High School Class of 1970. Throughout his life, Ray dedicated himself to hard work and service. He began his career at Hamady Warehouse and later retired from Nash-Finch Warehouse after many years of dedicated service. Ray was a member of the Davison Eagles City of Flags Aerie 3589, where he formed lasting friendships and contributed to his community. An avid sports enthusiast, Ray was known for his skill on the softball fields and basketball courts. He found great joy in cheering for Michigan State University sports teams and never missed a game. In addition to his passion for sports, Ray had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and took pride in meticulously maintaining his expansive 3-acre lawn, which he lovingly cared for every day. Above all else, Ray treasured the time spent with his beloved family. On June 29, 1996, he married the love of his life, Brenda Byers, in a memorable ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together, they shared countless cherished memories and built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. Ray will be remembered for his kind heart, his infectious laughter, and his unwavering dedication to his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, love, and commitment that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. Ray touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed. May he rest in peace, knowing he was loved by so many.

Ray is survived by his wife, Brenda Byers-Ulman; 2 sons, Travis Ulman and Dale (Sara) Byers; 3 grandchildren, Caitlin Byers, Carter Ulman and Jaxson Ulman; brother, Brad Ulman; aunt, Mary Ulman; uncle, Robert (Sherron) Garrow; brother-in-law, Steven Pocus; 3 sisters-in-law, Pam (Mike) Kruzman, Kim Conn and Tricia (Chuck) Brown; many other loving family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Ulman, Sr. and Jeanette Ardele Crouse; uncle, Norman Ulman and aunt, Louise (Herb) Matheson.
