Pakistan hero threatens to quit after World T20 failure
WAQAR YOUNIS claims he will leave his coaching role with Pakistan after being knocked out of the World T20.
Waqar Younis has offer his resignation to the Pakistan Cricket Board
Pakistan won their opening encounter against Bangladesh but then suffered heavy defeats to Australia, New Zealand and fierce rivals India and were eliminated at the World T20 Super 10 stage.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are now in the middle of a performance review and Younis knows that his own job is under scrutiny.
"If my leaving makes things better, then I would do it without delay,” Younis said.
"For 20 years I have played this game and I have carried the star on my chest for 20 years,” Afridi said.
“I enter the field with the emotions of the whole country with me.
“This team was not just a team of 11, it was a team of my whole country.
“I don't care what other people say about me, but I am answerable to you (people of Pakistan).
“Today, I, Shahid Afridi, seek forgiveness from the people of Pakistan for not living up to the expectations that you had from this team and me.”
