Power has been restored to most New Orleans residents after Hurricane Francine hit Louisiana, but many are still having internet outages, Cox officials said Friday.

WASHINGTON — Louisiana’s congressional delegation is asking President Joe Biden to issue a major disaster declaration for the damage caused by Hurricane Francine.
Several temporary sites in Terrebonne and St. Mary Parish will distribute food and water through the weekend as areas deal with post-storm power outages.
Most areas note significant progress amidst minor damage. Other regions, however, were hit harder.
Gentilly and Uptown residents who normally receive garbage and recycling service on Wednesday will be serviced on Friday afternoon, according to Sidney Torres, owner of IV Waste.
