• NEW!   Information Session for Members of the Public on the Rulemaking Process under the Administrative Procedure Act.   On October 21, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the Office of Administrative Law (OAL) will host a public information session on the rulemaking process under the Administrative Procedure Act (APA).   This special information session is specifically focused on assisting the public in understanding the APA.    Please visit our Rulemaking Training Classes for more information and scroll down the page to item "(3)."

• NEW!  Training Video Added to Our Rulemaking Training and Resources Page. To increase our rulemaking training resources and encourage public participation, the Office of Administrative Law has created a short and informative video, How to Comment on Emergency Rulemaking Actions. This is the first of many, so stay tuned!

• IMPORTANT -- APPROVED REGULATIONS REGARDING REDUCED NUMBER OF DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED TO OAL!  On January 12, 2024, OAL approved amendments to Title 1, sections 6, 6.5, and 8 of the California Code of Regulations concerning the reduction in the number of hard copies and electronic copies of the regulation text submitted by state agencies to OAL.
