VENOM 3: Chiwetel Ejiofor's Villainous Role In The Upcoming Threequel May Have Finally Been Revealed

There's been a great deal of speculation about Chiwetel Ejiofor's villainous role in Sony Pictures' Venom 3, but we may finally have some news on who the actor will be playing in the upcoming threequel...

Say what you will about Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage, but Sony Pictures has managed to attract some top-tier talent to the Marvel franchise.

Riz Ahmed played the villainous Carlton Drake in the first movie, while Woody Harrelson unleashed Carnage in the 2021 sequel. The franchise's next antagonist will be Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness star Chiwetel Ejiofor, though his role has remained a mystery to us. Until now.

According to scooper Daniel Richtman, the British actor has been cast In Venom 3 as comic book baddie Orwell Taylor.

There's long been speculation that he and The Jury would be this threequel's lead villains, particularly with Eddie Brock now moving into his Lethal Protector phase.

Led by Taylor, that group existed solely to take out Venom, with each member of The Jury outfitted in powerful armoured suits and tech based on Tony Stark's designs.

Throw in the fact that they had sonic blasters and flamethrowers, and it's not hard to imagine the government tasking this clandestine group with taking out an apparent threat like Venom. Remember, his existence appears to have been exposed to the world he calls home, hence why he's now in hiding.

Taylor isn't the most exciting villain, so it would be down to Ejiofor to do something exciting and interesting with this bureaucrat. However, we have faith that the actor will do so, likely having fun with the character in the process.

Juno Temple has nabbed a lead role in Venom 3, though we don't currently know who she's playing. Tom Hardy, meanwhile, returns as Eddie and also co-wrote the story with Kelly Marcel before she penned the screenplay. Cameras had been rolling in Spain before the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike forced production to be halted.

Venom 3 is currently set to be released in theaters on July 12, 2024.

If these villains used Iron Man technology I’m guessing that won’t be the case for this non MCU Marvel movie. On the other hand Eddie Brock did crossover to the MCU and mentioned Iron Man (Not by name of course) and Miguel O’Hara did mention Doctor Strange by name in Across the Spider-Verse, so I don’t know how this works.

Still refuse to believe a Spiderman wont appear in this movie.

@TheHumanSpider2 - lower your hopes. I don’t think Sony has the permission to use ANY Spider-Man(even Miles) in their Venom movies. Anybody can see that adding Spider-Man would be a slam dunk for Sony but they can’t use him for some legal based reason.

TheHumanSpider2 - 8/7/2023, 3:10 PM
@WruceBayne - They can do whatever they want with the character, they OWN IT, I do however think they cant use Holland's version because that particular version was created in collaboration with Disney (it was the only Spiderman absent in Spiderverse 2)

WruceBayne - 8/7/2023, 4:25 PM
@TheHumanSpider2 - well why haven’t they put a Spider-Man in the movies. You don’t need Hollands Spider-Man. If they own him and can do whatever they want with Spider-Man, why not use either of the two previous Spider-Men?

@TheHumanSpider2 - ...ok? Well enjoy that delusion I guess.

TheHumanSpider2 - 8/7/2023, 5:24 PM
@WruceBayne - Beats me.
They can do it, they can even put MCU characters in their movies (Vulture in Morbius) why they choose not to, makes no sense.

@WruceBayne - Or, the fact that Venom is in his own universe, they could create their own reality's Spider-Man.

I'm with you. I'm willing to bet Sony and Marvel have a deal that Sony won't use Spider-Man in their live action movies. If they could they wouldn't be making all these half asked villain movies with no Spidey.
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 8/7/2023, 7:13 PM
@TheHumanSpider2 - It's totally possible they have a deal with Marvel to not use Spider-Man in their live action movies as long as the MCU is using Tom Holland's version.
TheHumanSpider2
TheHumanSpider2 - 8/7/2023, 8:18 PM
@CorndogBurglar - I could understand that, and, again, that was the case in Spiderverse 2, Holland's was the only Spiderman missing, however, why no Garfield, Tobey, or even a new guy?
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 8/7/2023, 11:40 PM
@TheHumanSpider2 - Thats what I mean though. They could have an agreement with Marvel that Sony won't use ANY version of a Spider-Man in their live action movies.
TheHumanSpider2
TheHumanSpider2 - 8/8/2023, 8:55 AM
@CorndogBurglar - Maybe? but why would Sony sign that when they have a shared universe in mind? hell, you would think they would've signed to not have PETER PARKER in one of those movies, but Miguel? Miles? Ben?
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 8/8/2023, 9:11 AM
@TheHumanSpider2 - I agree with all of that. But there must be some kind of reason why they aren't including Spider-Man or even making their own Spider-Man movie. Spidey is a guaranteed money maker. It makes no sense to not use him in any capacity in their own live action movies. There has to he a reason for that.
TheHumanSpider2
TheHumanSpider2 - 8/8/2023, 10:56 AM
@CorndogBurglar - I mean, they did announce a Miles Morales movie, if that happens, and if it isnt part of the MCU, the question will be...what took them so long?
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 8/8/2023, 2:31 PM
@TheHumanSpider2 - Really? I hadn't heard that, but yeah. What did take them so long?

I enjoyed the first film as really dumb fun with a shitty villain but then the sequel came and took away even that small bit of fun so I couldn’t care any less about this film.

Give us Spider-Man and don’t give us this film at all Sony jfc

A non-symbiote villain is welcomed. This would give this movie some much needed variety from the first two.

Multiverse. Venom was in no way home after credit scene💁

@Starlight - There is no rule that says a MCU actor can't work on an Sonyverse Movie or a DCU movie or anything like that
Starlight
Starlight - 8/7/2023, 3:48 PM
@AmazingFILMporg - Yeah, I know but one thing is different "versions" of a character in different universes, adn another one is using the same actor for a completely DIFFERENT CHARACTER.... :P
Starlight
Starlight - 8/7/2023, 3:52 PM
@eagc1995 - Yeah, I know but completely nonsense an unnecessary then; why using a preexistint actor for a different character wihtout any "story-related" reason?....
eagc1995
eagc1995 - 8/7/2023, 6:33 PM
@Starlight - I don't think Sony even cares if Chiwetel already plays MCU character, Sony is gonna worry about what happens in their films and if they want an actor that appeared in an MCU film, then they will get that actor.
eagc1995
eagc1995 - 8/7/2023, 6:36 PM
@Starlight - I mean, Deadpool 3 is going to canonzine some Marvel films where an actor that appeared in the MCU played another character. Like Kevin Bacon is Sebastian Shaw in the Foxverse and he plays himself in the MCU and by bringing Jennifer Garner Elektra, that canonzines the Ben Affleck DD universe in where Jon Favreau plays Foggy, despite playing Happy in the MCU.

Carnage was disappointing in Venom 3 would have preferred Mordo be in Venom 3 just because or the Mordo that survived Wanda's attack.

If Sony is intelligent enough to really continue their current Multiverse storyline, Eddie should have been warped into Peter 3's (Andrew Garfield) Universe. Since Miguel stated that various villains are warping out of their universe thanks to various methods such as Fisk's collider, Strange's spell, and Kang's doorways. Morbius and Vulture (MCU) could have also been warped into Peter 3's earth. This creates the potential Sinister Six that Sony is thirsty for. Peter 3 vs. Venom, Vulture, Morbius, Lizard, Rhino, and someone else.

good move on Chiwetel, he knew that the MCU was a sinking ship and that the only thing keeping it alive was Sony's Spiderman and Kraven brand name.
