The least they can do here is nominate T’Nia Miller for Bly Manor. CC could have done it, but no.

She (along with Hawes and Whyte) has one of the best tapes of the category and even of the whole TV season with her centric episode.

FYC

Emma Stone - The Curse
Naomi Watts - Feud: Capote vs. The Swans
Sarayu Blue - Expats

Yup, that fifth episode is something else. But they already said no to Hill House, so they prob aren’t touching Bly Manor either.

Everyone knows about my Hawes stanning but I am just quoting this for the absolutely accuracy of the Whyte mention. As a child of immigrant parents who was mistreated and neglected at school because of being profiled as a “child who couldn’t speak English” because of the colour of my skin. Her performance was so heartbreaking and gut-wrenching and Education is the most under appreciated instalment of the Small Axe series of films. If anyone is looking for one to watch it’s that one.

I hope Amazon do the right thing and submit her.

Anyone else thinking HBO will pull a Matthew Weiner with IMDY And submit both Miller’s individual directing episodes and his co-directing episodes with Coel to max out on the show’s nominations haul?

I think so. I would assume they would submit the pilot and the finale in that scenario.

Michaela Coel is definitely winning an Emmy this year. The question will be if it’s for acting or writing, both or all four of producing, acting, writing and directing.

I think no matter what happens Coel is for sure winning a writing prize. I hope she and the series can win more but the writings award is basically locked (if nominated). Also they love their British properties in writing

The Queen’s Gambit is not a British production.

Although all of its main cast members apart from Camp, Heller and Ingram are British lol.

The Queen’s Gambit is not a British production.

Is it not? Just assumed it was since it’s was the lovechild of Allan Scott (a British creative) and from two British production companies behind it. It’s usually enough to qualify for “British Film” at Bafta, lol.

Yikes does that make it eligible for the main categories at BAFTA like Chernobyl was?

Easily one of my favorite performances! I would nominate Bly Manor in Series, Writing, Directing, Lead Actress, Supporting Actress & Actor.
