- DirectorChristo TomyStarsParvathy ThiruvothuUrvashiArjun RadhakrishnanA family's attempt to bury a loved one is thwarted by floodwaters, forcing them to confront long-buried secrets and lies that threaten their unity.Ullozhukku's literal translation in English is 'inner current' and this film is ALL about inner rumblings. Anju (Parvathy) is married against her wishes into an affluent family whose matriarch is Leelamma (Urvashi). Anju's husband passes away shortly after marriage, but cannot be buried because every monsoon, their village (and the cemetery) gets flooded. Stuck in this strange limbo, secrets begin to unravel, as the water levels continue to climb. Director Christo Tomy makes an accomplished fiction debut and puts women at the front and centre of this gripping drama that gives 'sisterhood' a new meaning. I would watch it again just for actors Parvathy and Urvashi, who bring Anju and Leelamma alive and convey pages of backstory with one flicker of the eye and change in gaze. — Kalpana N.
- DirectorRahul SadasivanStarsMammoottyArjun AshokanSidharth BharathanThevan, a folk singer of the Paanan caste, has a fateful encounter when escaping slavery, leading to him discovering an ancient traditional mansion altering his destiny.A film that proves, once again, that there is really no predicting anything when it comes to Malayalam films. With Bramayugam, you step into the 17th century and into a world of chaathans (demons), yakshis (female demons), monochrome, and demanding feudal landlords who ensnare unsuspecting trespassers. Superstar Mammooty plays Kodumon Poti, a character so instantly iconic that it is certain to be a part of his hall of fame. No mean feat given he's been acting for 53 years. Prepare for a few jump scares but mostly a growing sense of dread as Thevan (Arjun Ashokan) tries to break free from Kodumon Poti in this atmospheric horror film that draws on Malayalam folklore. — Kalpana N.

- DirectorKunal KemmuStarsDivyendu SharmaPratik GandhiAvinash TiwaryThe journey of three childhood friends who embark on a trip to Goa that goes completely off-trackMadgaon Express is everything good and bad about a boys' trip. It's a story of 3 friends finally putting in motion their teenage dream, only they are very different people now. You can sense the chaos this story has to offer right from the get go. Director Kunal Kemmu has done a brilliant job at showing the Goa that all of us know, and blended it with our worst nightmares and still somehow made it fun! This movie feels like it was written during your 3 AM conversations with friends. While all 3 lead actors have done an amazing job, Pratik Gandhi stands out. — Akshay B.
- DirectorNikhil Nagesh BhatStarsLakshyaRaghav JuyalTanya ManiktalaDuring a train trip to New Delhi, a pair of commandos face an army of invading bandits.Everyone associated with Kill - director Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, producers Karan Johar and Guneet Monga, and actors Lakshya and Raghav Juyal - talked ad nauseum about how violent their film is, and I was still not prepared for what I saw on screen. At one point I gasped so loudly that a lady checked in to see if I was all right. Two army commandos take an unplanned train journey because the girlfriend of one of them is on it with her family, and they've just gotten her engaged to some random dude. It turns into a journey from hell once some dacoits get on it and I've never seen people being murdered in so many creative and increasingly vomit-inducing ways. It feels strange to talk about how entertaining a movie like this is, but it kept me hooked throughout, even though I watched about 40% of it through my fingers. — Kashika S.
- DirectorDibakar BanerjeeStarsParitosh TiwariBonita RajpurohitAbhinav SinghComplexities of modern relationships and self-discovery in the high-tech age are explored through interconnected stories of love, friendship, and identity. If you haven't seen the 2010 anthology film Love Sex Aur Dhokha, then you might find yourself asking what in the world is going on in LSD 2. Is it meant to feel like you're illegally watching home videos? Is it meant to make you feel squeamish? Is it meant to make you wonder if our devices and viewing habits are literally killing us? The answer to all of that is yes. Through three stories, one about a trans reality TV contestant, the second about a trans janitor at a metro station, and the third about a teen gamer, Director Dibakar Banerjee is not afraid to show you a very depressing mirror. If you want to delete all your social media after watching this one, I won't blame you. — Kashika S.
