Today, the Directors Guild of America (or DGA) announced their nominees, further shaping the Oscar race. They come hot on the heels of yesterday featuring the American Society of Cinematographers (or Asc) announcing, as well as the Makeup Artists & Hair Stylists Guild. Earlier today, before DGA, the Costume Designers Guild announced too. They’ll all be seen, but the DGA is the one to focus on. They’re the precursor of this lot that’s truly going to shape the race. Historically, you try not to bet against the majority of DGA nominees scoring with Oscar. It’s just a very predictive and powerful guild… As you’ll see momentarily below, the DGA wound up citing the usual three suspects in Damien Chazelle for La La Land, Barry Jenkins for Arrival, and Kenneth Lonergan for Manchester by the Sea. From there, things got interesting. Many pundits, myself included, had predicted...

As mentioned previously, fantasy football leagues cannot be won simply for picking the right player at the beginning of the draft. Fantasy leagues are won by getting the most value of the mid- and late-round picks, as well as snagging some big players off the waiver wire throughout the course of the year. Odell Beckham, Jr., the wide receiver for the New York Giants, went undrafted, but was on nearly one third of Espn fantasy football championship rosters, which is more than Jamaal Charles, who mostly went first overall. You can, however, lose your league in the opening rounds by choosing incorrectly. People who drafted Adrian Peterson or Montee Ball in the first round basically had their seasons end mere weeks into the season.

Jonathan Stenberg, accused of decapitating his neighbour, was captured in the outback after six days on the run – during which he stopped off to audition in the Hugo Weaving film Mystery Road
A man accused of beheading his neighbour won the role of a policeman in an Australian thriller but left town before filming his scenes as a nationwide manhunt was launched.
Jonathon Stenberg, 46, was captured in the Australian outback last week after six days on the run from police, but not before he turned up at a casting call in the remote town of Winton, Queensland, where the film Mystery Road – ironically, the story of a murder hunt – was being filmed. Second assistant director Mark Ingram, whose movie stars Hugo Weaving, said Stenberg was the first person to audition, after apparently seeing an advert in a petrol station window.
"He came across as a really nice guy, a really nice guy.

We've reached the end of "American Idol's" long and winding audition tour, making a final stop in St. Louis before the show heads back to Hollywood next week. Much was made of the fact that one of "Idol's" biggest success stories, Carrie Underwood, was discovered in St. Louis eight years ago -- and compared to some of the contestants we've seen on our journey so far, perhaps the producers really were saving the best for last.
I haven't been overly impressed with many of the auditionees this season, but the singers in St. Louis were generally cute, commercial and easy to listen to. If there's a winner hidden among the competitors we've seen on screen to date, Missouri might be the state to beat. The judges were certainly enthusiastic, with a few of the hopefuls earning a "wow" within 10 seconds of them opening their mouths to sing. And...

Walter the Taxi Driver is quite unhappy with the number of people who showed up to St. Louis to audition for American Idol because of all the congestion they've caused on his streets. I'm guessing his crankiness has something to do with the fact that he didn't get to drive J.Lo around. Or maybe he's just bothered by the fact that he doesn't get to listen to all these talented people sing.
And y'all, there was some talent in St. Louis.

Not even a heavy rainstorm could put a damper on Kelsey Grammer's wedding to Kayte Walsh in New York City on Friday. Inside the Longacre Theater, where the couple tied the knot, the space was still decorated with props from La Cage aux Folles, as well as huge bouquets of pink and red flowers in gold urns. During the emotional ceremony, performed by Terry Lavell who was Grammer's costar in the Broadway hit musical, attendants read poems that the bride and groom had written for one another. As the couple listened, they appeared to be holding back tears, according to one guest.

HollywoodNews.com: Kelsey Grammer and Kayte Walsh finally got married yesterday and now details are out about the lavish celebration.
The reception was held at the Plaza Hotel’s Grand Ballroom and probably didn’t seem like a wedding celebration that was quickly pulled together, states UsMagazine.com.
While the food alone was extravagant, the cake was reportedly a sight to be seen and tasted as it was a elaborate 55-inch-tall carrot cake filled with cream cheese, caramel, and coconut created by Sylvia Weinstock.
As far as Walsh’s wedding dress, it was reportedly a satin and chiffon gown by Peter Langer for Mark Ingram.
