Kim Ngo, an acclaimed Vietnamese American costume designer, demonstrates creative expertise in both film and television. Most recently, THE ACCIDENTAL GET AWAY DRIVER, directed by Sing J. Lee won Best Director at Sundance Film Festival 2023, showcased Kim's eye for characterization through design. Kim has also worked as the Assistant Costume Designer on HBO/A24's highly anticipated TV short series THE SYMPATHIZER, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Sandra Oh, which premieres in 2024.
A member of both the Costume Designers Guild and the Motion Pictures Costumers Union, Kim's credits include contributions to NBC's THIS IS US, highlighted by her designs for the Vietnam Unit seen on Season 3. Her mastery of her craft is demonstrated in her collaboration with Jennifer Johnson in creating designs for Focus Features/Annapurna Pictures' KAJILLIONAIRE, written and directed by Miranda July. In addition to her work in film and television, Kim's clients span many specialties, including design and build for the World Cup, Virgin America, the United States Air Force, and Princess Cruises.
Kim has collaborated with inspired creatives worldwide. From her work as costume designer on ORPHAN: FIRST KILL, one of Hollywood Reporter's "Best Horror Films to Watch," to her award-winning volunteer work on the Centennial Women's Suffragette float in the Rose Bowl Parade.
Kim graduated from the famed Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, TX, where she found her passion for costume design. She holds a degree in Theater from the University of Texas at Austin with a concentration in Costume Design. Kim currently lives in Los Angeles with her spouse Victor Moyers and their child.
