Will the promise of two new original series next year — based on decades-old toon franchises — help convince people to pay $5 per month for Boomerang’s subscription-video service?
That’s the question Boomerang, the cartoon subscription-streaming service from Turner and Warner Bros., is raising as the one-year-old venture tries to bulk up its direct-to-consumer rolls.
In 2019, Boomerang plans to premiere two new originals: “Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?,” in which the gang teams up with guest stars to solve mysteries, and “Flintstones” spinoff “Yabba-Dabba Dinosaurs!” Both series are being produced by Warner Bros. Animation.
Boomerang also has renewed several existing shows, including “The Tom and Jerry Show” and “Bunnicula,” and has licensed U.S. rights to a British adaptation of “The Wind in the Willows.” In addition, it’s beefing up its product features, adding a fully translated Spanish-language version and support for Android TV devices over Memorial Day weekend.

The Comic-Con 2012 schedule has now been released in full, and barring any major updates, is set. The blessing and curse of being an attendee is deciding which panels/autograph sessions/special events to attend, when they conflict. And they always do.
For you to see for yourself, below are what we are calling the “headliner” panels; those panels that are taking place in Hall H, Ballroom 20, Room 6Bdf, and the just-next-door Hilton Indigo Ballroom, the four major venues for panels. There are descriptions of each panel as well as the show(s) and/or movie(s) they are there to discuss.
See how many conflicts you might have, or how you might arrange time and space to somehow attend these plus spend every day in the vendors’ Exhibit Hall and chasing zombies in the nearby The Walking Dead Escape. By the way, if you figure that out, Please let us know.

They're bringing some old favorites as well as the new shows we're looking forward to, like "666 Park Avenue," "Cult," "The Following," "Arrow," and "Revolution" -- all of which will be screened to give fans a special sneak peek on Wednesday, July 11.
There's more info from the press release below. Which panels will you be attending?
Please Note: Series stars and creative teams scheduled to attend are subject to change. Additional information on panel sessions, signings and other events will be provided as news breaks.

Mad Magazine worked in the 1950s when it debuted because it was subversive in its own way. At a time when conformity was the ideal, Mad went out of its way to skewer that very conformity, poking at the pop culture icons of the day, from its comic book brethren to movies and the nascent field of television. But it was smart humor, written and illustrated by some of the greatest talents working in the field. Its shift to black and white magazine was a desperate move at the time, avoiding the coming of the Comics Code Authority, but it also let the magazine grow in scope and influence. Being skewered by Mad’s usual gang of idiots was a badge of honor, usually proudly worn.
With time, the magazine became stuck in a pattern while the world around it changed and only offers up occasional bursts of brilliance these days.

It seems like San Diego Comic-Con 2011 is right around the corner, and it's going to be one hell of a glorious weekend of geek awesomeness. Comic-Con International has unleashed the full schedule for Friday July 22nd, once again we have a full day of fun and excitement. There's so much I want to see here, including The Amazing Spider-Man, The Walking Dead, Total Recal, Batman: Year One, Locke & Key, Haywire, Raven and more!
I've gone through the list and put exclamation points next to all of the events that we want to cover. Let us know what panels and events you would like to know about and we will try and get them covered for you! If you are actually going to be at the con, what will you be checking out?
GeekTyrant will once again be at Comic-Con in full force this year, bringing you the best maximum super rad coverage.

If past years are any indication, Comic-Con will begin releasing its official 2011 panel schedule later today (Wednesday) with the schedule for Preview Night, Wednesday, July 20. If that happens then we can expect them to follow suit for the rest of the days, so that Thursday will see the release of the Thursday of Con schedule, etc., through Sunday.
Once the official schedules are posted these “TV and Movie Panels and Screenings Updates” will be scaled back to just the date, time, title, and location, since the rest of the information and So Much More (including comics panels, autograph signings, etc.) will be available on the Comic-Con schedule link we’ll provide. Consider this, then, the last of the extremely long posts, and hopefully we’ll be getting that official schedule soon.
Hmm, here’s an interesting matchup: Glee will be in Hall H on Sunday at 10:00; Supernatural will be...

The second update but absolutely not the last. We have yet to hear from the major networks, Syfy, TNT or USA about their panels. More to the point, we have yet to hear from Comic-Con, at least as to the official schedule.
As you may know, they resold the returned 4-day passes on Friday, and those sold out within a couple of hours. It likely only took that long because only a certain number of people could be purchasing at one time. Returned one day tickets will go on sale shortly; if you’re interested in attempting to be amongst the lucky few who will achieve tickets, you must be following Comic-Con on Twitter for the latest updates
Information added to this update includes Locke & Key, Dexter, Shameless, Homeland, Archer, Wilfred, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Sons of Anarchy, Shark Night 3D, Haywire, The Raven, Immortals, Thanks to THR...

Woo Hoo! Comic-Con 2011 info is really starting to flow! As a veteran attendee, one of the most exciting things I’ve seen are the blurbs that come out on the official schedule, being released early by studios! First out of the gate for that appears to be from Warner Bros. Television Group. The panel blurbs, along with the dates, times, and room numbers, have been released in a statement. For this post we scrapped the previous format in favor of Comic-Con’s format whenever that information is available. Here we go!

For those who missed it (including us, to be honest), on Labor Day, a funny thing happened; at 8:30 Pm, Cartoon Network aired a 'Mad' cartoon. And guess what? It wasn't a one-time fluke! Our friends over at HeroComplex snagged the new animated sketch show's producers Mark Marek (of Crank Yankers fame) and 'Emmy winner' Kevin Shinick (of Robot Chicken) and sat them down for an interview. For those who are too lazy to click that link and read their awesome interview, allow us to give you the 411:
