Despite all the controversies galore that had surrounded this week's release Udta Punjab; the film got successfully released in the theatres. But the ordeals that have been caused to the film in the form of the film's censor copy getting leaked before its theatrical release are now being investigated. Sanjay Murthy (Joint Secretary), alongwith an Information & Broadcasting Ministry team, reached the office of Central Board of Film Certification (Cbfc) on Friday and questioned everyone in the office. The said leak is already being investigated by the Mumbai Police. To that effect, even a case has been registered under the Copyright and Information Technology Act. Cbfc's Chairperson Pahlaj Nihalani rubbished all the allegations that a Censor Board member was behind the leak. He said that the leaked copy was not the one that was submitted to the Censor Board for examination. He added that they (the Cbfc) will surely cooperate with the investigation.
