The project is inspired by the true story of youth advocate Zach Bonner who in 2005, at age seven, formed a Tampa-based nonprofit foundation to aid the 1.3 million homeless children in the United States.
David Anspaugh ("Rudy," "Hoosiers") directs from an original screenplay by Patrick Sheane Duncan ("Mr. Holland's Opus"). Dr. Michael Guillen and David Kanter will produce.
Shooting kicked off this week in Charleston, South Carolina.

Global film board doubles its board size
The Global Film Initiative has appointed six new members to its board of directors. The new appointees, who join the current six-member board, are film writer Michael Guillen, educator Fredna Howell, marketing exec Miles Ito, film teacher Konrad Ng, philanthropist Judy Ovitz and investor Dan Zilberman. The Global Film Initiative, now in its fifth year, oversees such programs as the Global Lens Film series.
