Lubomír Zaorálek is a Czech politician currently serving as the Czech foreign minister. Zaoralek graduated Jan Evangelista Purkyne University (today Masaryk University) in Brno in 1982. He worked as a dramaturge at Czechoslovak Television in Ostrava and later as public officer at Czech National Social Party. During Velvet Revolution in November 1989 he participated at Civic Forum. He became member of Czech Social Democratic Party in 1994 and has continued his political career under that party. He's been a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic since 1996. From 2002 to 2006, he was Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic.
