Season 37 of CBS’s popular investigative series 48 Hours kicks off with an episode focusing on the 30-year search for the body of murder victim Sara Anne Wood. The 12-year-old girl went missing on August 18, 1993 while walking home from church in Sauquoit, New York. Lewis Lent was ultimately convicted of her murder but has refused to give her family peace by revealing the location of her body.
“It’s 30 years later … I can’t imagine many things that are as terribly life-changing,” said Sara’s older brother, Dusty, in an interview with 48 Hours correspondent Erin Moriarty. He added, “Finding the body is important because then my mother could know where she is.”
Dusty now dedicates his time to spreading awareness of child abductions. “The most important thing for us as a family is to protect kids … and make sure that if there’s anything that can be done to...

The following article contains major spoilers for "The Boys" season 4 and discusses abortion, suicide, and sexual assault. Reader discretion is advised.
Look, no one watches the Prime Video satirical superhero series "The Boys" because they want to feel warm and fuzzy. The show, based on the Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson comic of the same name, is a pitch-dark take on superhero franchises that skewers everyone and everything while putting its characters through absolute hell. Season 4 was more brutal than any of the previous seasons, however, forcing most of its characters to face their (significant) past trauma. For Hughie (Jack Quaid), season 4 was even more hellish than it was for anyone else, as he was put through traumatizing event after traumatizing event.

As pre-production on the fifth and final season of Prime Video's The Boys gets underway, we have word on a new Supe who will be joining the party before going on to have a larger role in the recently-announced Vought Rising spin-off show.
According to Nexus Point News, Fyboy will be introduced during season 5. As far as we know, this Supe doesn't appear in the comics, but there are numerous minor and supporting characters he could be based on.
Flyboy is described as: "A white man in his twenties to thirties who was once a charismatic combat pilot, but is now a junkie with a dark past. Although he’s haunted by the trauma of his past, he maintains his confidence in the presence of cameras."

The Boys: Firecracker Actress Valorie Curry Calls Out Fan Who Crossed A Boundary At Recent Comic-Con
The recent fourth season of The Boys saw Homelander recruit two new members of The Seven, one of whom turned out to be alt-right TV host Firecracker: an openly racist, homophobic and all-round nasty customer with an axe to grind against Annie January, aka Starlight (Erin Moriarty).
Over the course of the season, Firecracker finds a way to endear herself to Homelander by taking a course of drugs which allow her to lactate. If you know anything about the seriously messed-up leader of The Seven, you'll no doubt understand why this would be of great interest to him!
Firecracker actress Valorie Curry recently attended Comic-Con Northern Ireland, and while she makes a point of noting that she had a mostly very pleasant experience, she has shared an Instagram video addressing one particularly "uncomfortable" encounter with a fan who crossed a boundary while waiting in line to meet her.

The Boys on "The Boys" have been through a lot over four seasons, enduring battles with long-lost frozen superheroes, the horrors of Homelander (Antony Starr), and now a potential supe virus. But for the most part, they've kept their appearances the same. Annie (Erin Moriarty) doesn't wear her Starlight costume as often, of course, and Butcher (Karl Urban) looks a little more grizzled, but generally, the brutality of their existence hasn't impacted their looks. Except for Mother's Milk, played by Laz Alonso, whose looks have changed quite a bit, especially with the most recent season.

Season 4 was a rough period for poor Annie, Aka Starlight. She got into a mostly one-sided feud with new supe villain Firecracker (Valerie Curry) that killed her reputation, she lost her powers for a bit, and then she spent ten days chained up to a radiator while a shapeshifting supe slept with her boyfriend Hughie. The poor woman needs a win! This might be why her actress, Erin Moriarty, has a clear request for the fifth (and final) season: she wants Annie to finally get to kill the Deep (Chace Crawford).

Beauty standards have always existed in Hollywood and certain celebrities have resorted to plastic surgery to enhance their looks. However, this trend has also affected other actresses who have nothing to do with the procedure as seen with Moriarty earlier this year. Stuart Gatt makes his feature directorial debut with Catching Dust, a somber thriller set amid the sprawling nothingness of a Texas desert. Gatt hails from Britain but wisely chooses to root his tale in the dusty heartland, crafting a rumination on suffocating isolation that only this vast yet empty landscape could inspire.
We’re introduced to two couples living off-grid in aging mobile homes stationed at the ruins of an abandoned commune. Clyde and Geena seem to be hiding from something as they eke out an existence in their trailer, while Andy and Amaya have come seeking respite from city life, though it’s unclear from what exactly.
The film wastes little time unraveling these mysteries, starting instead with a haunting flashforward—the crack of gunfire piercing the dusk, followed by an anguished scream. We’re left wondering who lies wounded or dead, the identity of the assailant yet to be seen.

Developing a Western in 2024 carries the baggage of a historical genre. So many directors have found ways to explore complex themes within the confines of the American West that coming across an original story in this space is rare. Yet this is precisely what drew Erin Moriarty to the directorial debut of Stuart Gatt, Catching Dust, which opens on August 23.
As the two couples work out their differences against the backdrop of the frontier, their lies and pain come to light. Gatt’s debut features Moriarity as Geena – a young woman looking to understand herself in the face of total isolation. Moriarity and Gatt spoke to FandomWire about the experience of making Catching Dust and how to capture the emotion of the genre.
Gatt wanted to explore isolation and the desert.
Westerns were not traditionally the kind of movies Gatt made. “I just made my last short about the Libyan refugee crisis.

Antony Starr’s performance in The Boys has put Homelander on the same level as other iconic villains in Hollywood, such as Darth Vader, Hannibal Lecter, and Norman Bates. However, co-stars of Antony Starr have repeatedly pointed out how unlike his on-screen character the Outrageous Fortune alum is.

However, Starr had opened up about one of his more negative aspects, one that landed him in some trouble with the law while he was in Spain. In 2022, the actor was given a 12-month suspended sentence and ordered to pay $5500 as a fine, as reported by the Spanish outlet, Información.
Despite the violent confrontation that he was a part of, one of The Boys co-stars came to his defense, who, ironically, has been tortured and tormented more than a few times by Homelander on screen.

After Sam Raimi’s darkly playful 2009 fright fest “Drag Me to Hell” came out, star Alison Lohman said she faced a question. “It was kind of like: Do you want to be a household name?” she remembers in a recent phone call.
She didn’t. “I don’t think I really really wanted that, to be in the public eye,” she said.
If you had told film fans in the 2000s that Lohman would have essentially vanished from the big screen in 2024, they might have a hard time believing you. The decade offered Lohman an incredible run, starting with her breakout role in 2002’s “White Oleander,” Peter Kominsky’s melodrama, where she played the daughter of Michelle Pfeiffer. Garth Ennis’ dark satire comic The Boys has never held back on its radically explosive themes, often holding a microscopic lens over society and highlighting the degradation of human culture when it evolved into something greater and far more powerful.
Amazon’s adaptation of the same does little to tone down on its subject, instead taking a far more relevant and relatable approach with its hint-hint-wink-wink directed at Marvel, DC, and the American socio-political atmosphere of today.

Although considered one of the most graphic, violent, and out-there series in television history, The Boys only goes on to up the ante with each passing season. For Eric Kripke and his boys, the spotlight is always focused on how to shock the audiences with trauma-inducing scenes in new and different ways compared to the last season.
In its latest run, it seems that Kripke finally found his answer.

For such a brutally violent, anarchic series, The Boys hasn't been particularly ruthless when it comes to killing off its main characters over the course of four seasons, but, not too surprisingly, it sounds like this will change in the fifth and final batch of episodes.
While speaking to TV Guide about his plans for the final season, showrunner Eric Kripke was asked if he's already decided who is going to survive and who will come to a no-doubt messy end.
"Anyone who dies in season 5 will richly deserve it. We have a certain sense of who live and who dies, but we don't have it all totally figured out. But you get to do the final season of a show and go out on your own terms, so not everyone's making it through."
Potential spoilers follow.

"Wild" is the perfect word to describe what we all witnessed in the latest season of The Boys. In all fairness, that's pretty much how you could describe every episode of the Amazon Prime Video show, but the season 4 finale especially. Despite IGN giving The Boys' final episode of season 4 a 6/10—an above-average score, barely—they could flip that six upside down and give it a nine. It was nothing short of epic and disturbing, leaving us both thrilled and unnerved.
There was a time it seemed that The Boys relied on shock factor, from the disturbing scene in "Life Among the Septics" that made The Human Centipede look tame. And who can forget the nauseating experience Huey had with Tek Knight and Ashley in "Dirty Business" that left him traumatized? Poor Huey. The plot was a bit slow-moving, and one could argue some personal plots, like those of Kimiko,...

Fans of "The Boys" should prepare to see a lot more of Captain America-parody Soldier Boy (played by Jensen Ackles) in the near future. Ackles is not only starring as Soldier Boy in a prequel spin-off, "Vought Rising," he's also set to be a series regular for the fifth and final season of "The Boys."
Soldier Boy was introduced in season 3 of the hit superhero satire series. Once the leader of America's greatest superhero team, Payback, his teammates tired of his abusive behavior in 1984 and backstabbed him, handing him over to Ussr scientists for (super)human experiments. The Boys found Soldier Boy in cold storage and awakened him; the experiments gave him the ability to fire blasts of radiation that removed supes' powers.
So, Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and Hughie (Jack Quaid) made a deal with Soldier Boy; if they helped him get revenge on his former teammates, he'd help...

Patience isn’t the only new spirit headed to Ghosts.
As announced during San Diego Comic-Con this past Saturday, Mary Holland (The Big Door Prize, Veep) will recur during Season 4 as the Puritan ghost who dragged Isaac into the dirt in the Season 3 finale. But co-showrunners Joe Wiseman and Joe Port revealed to TVLine that there will also be some other fresh (and furry?) otherworldly additions.

After being (narrowly) defeated and put on ice at the end of The Boys season 3, Soldier Boy made a brief appearance in the recent season 4 finale post-credits scene, and we got confirmation that Jensen Ackles will officially return as a series regular for the fifth and final season during San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend.
The former leader of Payback didn't have much loyalty to anyone but himself, but worked alongside Billy Butcher and the gang for the majority of the third season - even after finding out that Homelander was his biological son.
Unfortunately, Soldier Boy attacking Ryan forced Butcher to betray him, and it sounds like the mega-powerful Supe holds a grudge.
"You know, what we realized was we really hadn't explored the father-son relationship much between Homelander and Soldier Boy," showrunner Eric Kripke tells Gamesradar+. "There's a lot of material there, how soldier boy feels about Homelander,...
