Director Guillermo del Toro has been spending this year working on one of his dream projects, an adaptation of Mary Shelley’s classic tale Frankenstein that is set up at the Netflix streaming service. Frankenstein is believed to have started filming on February 12th – and even though the production was only expected to last about five months, wrapping up on July 5th, somehow it’s still going! We had heard that filming would take place in Ontario, Canada, and possibly in London, England, but cameras are currently rolling in Edinburgh, Scotland, parts of which have been made to look like Victorian England. Images of that transformation, as well as Oscar Isaac in character can be seen here:

Joel McHale has denied claims that he is going to star in 'Jurassic World Rebirth'. The 'Community' star, 52, was rumoured to have joined the upcoming blockbuster but insists that the stories about his casting in the movie are nothing but hearsay. When Collider asked the actor whether he was in 'Rebirth', he said: "If you know something that would be great. Because I don’t know anything. I know nothing! I don’t know; no one’s asked me." 'The Bear' actor – who has children Edward, 19, and Isaac, 16, with his wife Sarah Williams – joked his youngest son had teased him about the rumours when stories about McHale's casting began to circulate online. He laughed: "My 16-year-old was making fun of me. He was like, 'Hey Dad, I heard you’re gonna be in 'Jurassic World'. Boy, how wrong are they,...

High Potential is making its debut on ABC. The new procedural, which flits between comedy and drama, stars Kaitlin Olson as a genius who gets hired as a police consultant after she makes a break in a case that changes the tide of the investigation. Her decision to highlight what they'd missed takes her from cleaning the precinct to helping to solve crimes with Det. Karadec who is definitely not as free spirited as Morgan nor would he bring children to a crime scene but, hey, Morgan is a single mother with three kids, where she goes they go if that's what has to happen.

Netflix’s season three trailer for Heartstopper begins by acknowledging that 16 is when things stop making sense. (And it doesn’t get any easier moving forward.) The trailer for the coming-of-age drama captures teen angst, and shows Charlie and Nick’s relationship is still incredibly complicated.
“Season 2 ended with Nick beginning to understand the extent of Charlie’s mental health issues, and it’s this that will drive the story through Season 3,” said series creator and writer Alice Oseman. “While Heartstopper will always celebrate the joyful and point towards hope, I’m really excited that we are allowing the tone of the show to mature alongside our beloved characters growing up. Mental health, sex, university ambitions, and more: Nick, Charlie, and the Heartstopper teens are getting older, learning more about themselves and each other, and experiencing new desires, new fears, and new joys as they approach adulthood.”

The second season of HBO's post-apocalyptic drama The Last of Us wrapped filming last month, and now, we have an exciting new update about when we'll get to watch it. HBO CEO Casey Bloys was out on the press trail after the Emmy Awards aired this past weekend, where he spoke to Deadline about a variety of the networks upcoming projects. He brushed off author George R.R. Martin's criticisms of House of the Dragon, hinted at ia 2026 or 2027 release window for the new Harry Potter series, and even gave us some new informaton on The Last of Us.
When asked about when we can expect to see Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey fighting zombies again, as well as the third season of the star-studded series The White Lotus, Bloys replied, "Well, all I'll say now, generally first half of the year, I expect them to be in the Emmy window.

Oscar Isaac’s upcoming animated film will explore the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. However, the plot of The King of Kings isn’t that simple. Fans found it shocking that the film has a multi-dimensional theme, where author Charles Dickens and his son Walter travel back to different points in Christ’s life. Isaac will play Jesus while Kenneth Branagh takes on the role of Dickens.

Hellboy director Guillermo del Toro is in the UK shooting his long-awaited Frankenstein movie. He's assembled an incredible cast which includes Jacob Elordi as Frankenstein's monster, Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein, with Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz, Lars Mikkelsen, Charles Dance, and Ralph Ineson among others.
The project, which is expected to be a Netflix exclusive, originally starred The Amazing Spider-Man's Andrew Garfield as the monster before the actor was forced to pull out due to scheduling conflicts caused by last year's Hollywood strikes.
Now, though, we have a first look at Isaac on set as Isaac's Victor; as expected, this is indeed a period piece and will be presented in del Toro's own unique style. Plot details for the movie have not been revealed, though we know the filmmaker penned the screenplay alongside J. Miles Dale, who served as a producer on del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities for Netflix.

You might say there’s a haunting pattern when it comes to season finales of Ghosts, the hit CBS series that serves you emotions with a side of morbid humor: in last May’s third season cliffhanger, a spirit from Woodstone Manor abruptly disappeared from the property. Thankfully, fans won’t have to spend too much more time wondering what happened to Revolutionary Isaac Higgintoot (Brandon Scott Jones) after he broke off his wedding with Nigel (John Hartman) and was pulled into the dirt by his old friend Patience — the ghost who still holds a grudge from Isaac leaving her underground in the 1800s. “We’re going to find out what her plans with Isaac are. We’re going to deal with that in the beginning,” promises showrunner Joe Wiseman, indicating that we’ll be seeing a lot more of the Puritan ghost played by The Big Door Prize’s Mary Holland.

Charlie Harper was a walking disaster, and Two and a Half Men made sure we never forgot it. But there was one flicker of hope for his love life—a relationship that was, dare we say, healthy. It was the closest Charlie came to not being a total prick, yet the writers seemed determined to keep him stuck in his womanizing ways.

The only problem? It could have worked, and fans saw it. The relationship had potential, but the show’s mission to keep Charlie in perpetual bachelor mode was stronger. So, what could’ve been a rare moment of character growth got tossed aside, all in the name of chaotic comedy. Thanks, writers!

Matt Sampere’s Creeping Death is a low-budget, questionably executed horror thriller film that attempts to trace the birth of Halloween. It is an ambitious project where unfortunately none of the elements worked out. The acting is subpar, the story has loopholes, and the tropes are old and repetitive. Tim lived with his father and ailing mother. Linda had been diagnosed with cancer, and the last three years had been challenging for the family. Tim’s father, Fred, was a paramedic, and he had immense work pressure on Halloween. He asked Tim to stay home with Linda, and his son obliged. Instead of attending the Halloween party he was invited to, Tim decided to spend a quiet night at home. But all of a sudden, his friends showed up carrying a sack. Upon opening it, they found the remains of a dead dog. They had stolen the sack from an old man’s house,...

Rumours continue to swirl about Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures' plans for Spider-Man 4. We initially heard the idea was to tell a street-level story revolving around Peter Parker and Daredevil teaming up to battle Mayor Wilson Fisk as he looks to clamp down on New York's vigilantes.
Unfortunately, delays caused by last year's WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes now mean it's likely the Spider-Man: No Way Home sequel will be released between Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Why is that an issue? Well, if the former ends with the creation of Battleworld, that story revolving around the Kingpin of Crime no longer works in a Multiversal setting. As a result, Sony may have gotten its wish to reunite Tom Holland with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield for another epic team-up. To be fair, that wouldn't be a bad thing either!

Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight came out in 2022 and received positive response among critics and audiences. While there were some flaws in the depiction of the superhero, fans expected to see more of the character in the MCU. Two years have since passed without any significant update about a second season of the show. The reason is most likely the creative overhaul in Marvel’s television side of things.

It’s been nearly three years since the release of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home,’ and a new trilogy is now on the horizon. The film was confirmed to be in development several months ago, with both Kevin Feige and Tom Holland, its main star, commenting on it.
While we know that Tom Holland and Zendaya will return to their roles, the direction the story will take remains a matter of speculation.
Recently, there’s been speculation that the next Spider-Man story could take one of two directions: a street-level adventure or a multiverse storyline. According to the latest insider reports, the decision has been made to continue the multiversal trend, reigniting rumors of a potential crossover with the Spider-Verse.
There have long been whispers that a live-action Miles Morales will debut in the upcoming film, bringing a host of supporting characters with him. But where does Moon Knight fit into all of this?...

Oscar Isaac has played three characters across the Marvel Multiverse: Moon Knight in the MCU proper, Apocalypse in Fox’s X-Men, and Miguel O’Hara in Sony’s Spider-Verse films. Come Secret Wars, it is expected that a slew of non-mcu Marvel characters will be making their way into the MCU to fight Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom.

Given that Doctor Doom would have messed up multiple timelines and could have made enemies outside the Sacred Timeline, it is expected that even antagonists will join the fray to battle God Emperor Doom. Oscar Isaac might be there as Moon Knight, but there is one other character that could aid the heroes of the MCU to fight Doom, someone already confirmed to be part of the same multiverse depicted in the MCU: Miguel Ohara a.k.a Spier-Man 2099.

Arthur Morgan may have taken the crown from John Marston with the release of Red Dead Redemption 2, but the original still delivered an impactful story. While games may have traditionally been about ‘victory’, those tropes are now subverted for a more Greek tragedy approach.
Despite being noble and kind, characters might not meet the ending the audience feels they deserve. However, it’s their trials and tribulations that make their end much more impactful. Here are five characters we feel deserved better but have become iconic because of how they went out.

That sound you hear when it comes to Kailyn Lowry?
It’s actually not one of her many kids asking Mommy for a favor.
Instead, it’s the sound of upcoming wedding bells… because Kailyn Lowry is engaged to boyfriend Elijah Scott!

The Teen Mom 2 alum dropped this romantic bombshell during a conversation on air with Coffee Convos podcast co-host Lindsie Chrisley on August 22.
At one point, Chrisley noticed the diamond on her friend’s ring finger and asked simply: “Wait, are you married?”
The veteran reality star laughed off the question, explaining that she wasn’t married. Yet.
“This is the ring that they give you before you get married,” replied the mother of five.

A mysterious, reclusive CEO, Nathan (Oscar Isaac) — who also builds humanoid robots with artificial intelligence — is visited by his employee Caleb (Domhnall Gleeson) after the latter wins a company-held competition. This period of corporate collaboration is initially marked by conversations about AI consciousness and the thresholds marked for the robots to be considered human, as Nathan tasks Caleb with determining whether his latest model, Ava (Alicia Vikander), has developed genuine consciousness. With every conversation with Ava, Caleb is convinced that something sinister is at work here, with the other robot models exhibiting proof of Nathan's controlling and abusive nature. Just as Caleb makes a choice to determine whether Ava can be considered human, the heart of "Ex Machina" unravels in unprecedented ways.
Alex Garland's "Ex Machina" wrestles with the age-old question of what makes us human, and whether humanity is an inherent or learned instinct that manifests with classic nature-nurture conundrums.

Producers and directors alike rarely mention Indie games regarding a potential TV adaptation. It’s a shame. For all the hype Aaa games get, so many are busts while hidden gems circulate in the shadows of anonymity outside hardcore gaming circles.
To be fair, many Indies are nearly impossible to translate into TV shows, not without fundamentally stripping the game of everything it is and reassembling something entirely different.
Everyone knows how much gamers love that idea. Take “Unpacking,” for instance. It’s a game about just that — unpacking and decorating a home. Netflix’s Dream Home Makeover covers that quite well without an adaptation.

Alas, in the midst of Fallout, Halo, The Witcher, and upcoming TV adaptations like God of War, Indies are relegated to the back shelf, at least for now.

Jake Gyllenhaal was the ex-actor set to star in Alex Garland’s feature debut “Ex Machina.”
Garland’s longtime producer Andrew Macdonald confirmed during the 2024 Edinburgh Film Festival (via Deadline) that Gyllenhaal was in talks to take on the lead role in the 2014 drama. Oscar Isaac was instead later cast as the elusive billionaire character.

Filmmaker Alex Garland and producer Andrew Macdonald shared insights into their acclaimed sci-fi thriller “Ex Machina” at a recent event. The duo, who have worked together for years, revealed details about casting decisions and a memorable scene from the 2015 movie.
Macdonald said sales companies originally pushed for a bigger star like Jake Gyllenhaal in a leading role. “They thought it would help sell the international rights better,” Macdonald explained. However, negotiations stalled due to the actor’s representatives. Ultimately, Garland and Macdonald chose Alicia Vikander and Oscar Isaac, who were rising talents at the time. This allowed the low-budget film to get financing through Universal International.
During the event, Garland called “Ex Machina” his favorite directorial effort so far. He praised the positive on-set atmosphere and hard work of the “young and committed” cast. Garland also shed light on the film’s memorable dancing scene featuring Isaac and Sonoya Mizuno.
