Pretty Little Liars fans recognize actress Lucy Hale as Aria, an artsy high school student who's survived five seasons of torture at the hands of a villain known as A.
On the show, A is everywhere, peering into the Liars' lives and messing with their heads. While teen viewers know A is just a (super creepy) made-up character, Hale wants to help educate them about a real-life threat: meningococcal meningitis.
The life-threatening bacterial infection is spread from person to person through respiratory and throat secretions. Though the Centers for Disease Control reports less than 1,000 cases in the United States each year,...

American Idol Wednesday night featured guest mentor Jason Mraz helping the Top 5 singers master songs picked for them by viewers.
American Idol Recap
Alex Preston was first up, singing “Sweater Weather” by The Neighborhood. Preston was strong vocally, hitting all of his notes with a bit more power than usual. The judges weren’t bothered that Preston didn’t change up the song too much. They did, however, encourage him to focus on bringing more energy and range to his performances.
Preston’s second number was A Great Big World’s “Say Something,” which proved to be even more successful than his first number. Preston stripped down the popular song, and delivered an emotionally powerful take on it that rivaled that of The X Factor’s Alex and Sierra. All three judges were wowed by the heartfelt performance.

ScHoolboy Q will hand off the top spot on the Billboard 200 next week to fellow rapper Rick Ross, who will handily claim the top spot with sales of up to 160,000 for “Mastermind.” ScHoolboy’s “Oxymoron” slides to No. 5. Ross’s album is one of four debuts in the top 10: Pharrell Williams’ “G I R L” will bow at No. 3 (95,000), Lea Michele’s “Louder” at No. 4, and country group Eli Young Band’s “10,000 Towns” at No. 10 (27,000), according to Hits Daily Double. “Frozen” will stay in the No. 2 spot (100,000), despite the film’s track, “Let It Go,” snagging the Oscar for best original song on Sunday night. Lorde’s “Pure Heroine” looks good for No. 6 (31,000), although it may have to fend off Beck’s “Morning Phase” for that spot, as his title is also expected to sell around the same amount. Eric Church’s former No. 1, “The Outsider,” will be at No.

American Authors are having a moment: the quartet’s debut album, “Oh, What A Life,” came out Tuesday (4), as its banjo-laced song “Best Day of My Life” is reaching critical mass. Even if you don’t think you know the bouncy song, which was released nearly a year ago, you do: it’s achieved near ubiquity through its usage in commercials for Lowes, the trailer for “Delivery Man, “ as the opening sequence for Espn’s World Series of Poker series, or, of course, on the radio. It reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult Pop Songs chart, No. 6 on Billboard’s Rock Songs chart and is still climbing the Billboard Hot 100. The rest of the album follows a similarly upbeat trajectory, with the band musically aligned with such acts as fun., and The Script. Most of the lyrics are positive, or if not outright celebratory, accepting of life on life’s terms.
