Jessica Cruz is a South Asian - American actress and filmmaker.
When Jessica was nine-years-old, she wrote in her school yearbook that she wants to be an actress when she's older. After spending a lot of time dancing along to Hindi songs imitating the dance moves and facial expressions of Indian actresses (mostly Karishma Kapoor), and re-enacting the entire movie of "Wizard of Oz", she auditioned for her first play in middle school. After two failed auditions, she finally landed her first ever acting role as the Cruise Director in the play, "Anchors Aweigh".
After having been heavily involved in theater throughout school, Jessica is now heavily involved in the film world as an Actress, Producer, Editor, Casting Assistant, and Production Assistant.
During the Pandemic, Jessica remotely produced a short film titled "Orchid Daydreams", in which she played a leading role. Jessica garnered multiple semi-finalist, finalist, and honorable mention positions in various film festivals for her performance as Naomi. She also won Best Actress in a Drama at the Best Actor Awards New York, and Best Actor of the Year at the Mumbai International Film Awards.
In addition, her self-tape performance of Rue's monologue from HBO's "Euphoria" won Best Monologue at the Best Actor Awards New York.
Her most notable credits include: "Burn It All", "Orchid Daydreams", "Chat", and "The Concurrence".
