Elizabeth Baudouin is a writer/producer/director. She is known for creating meaningful stories that capture the human experience through emotional depth, nuanced complexity, subtle humor, and cultural totems.
In writing, her work has been published in Vogue, The Work Magazine, Atelier Dore, Huffington Post, The Coveteur, FvF, Bullett Magazine, Coachella's CAMP Magazine, BlackBook Magazine, and more.
Elizabeth often chronicles her experience as being one of the first generation of children raised by an openly gay and lesbian parent.
In film, she is the Executive Producer, Producer, and Music Supervisor for director Natalie Shrinian's documentary film Interior Motives which won Best Documentary Short at the 2019 IFS Los Angeles Film Festival and the 2019 Berlin Short Film Festival. Interior Motives has been featured by AnOther Magazine, Architectural Digest, NY Times: T Magazine, Flaunt, Hollywood Reporter and Variety. The film was also showcased at Frieze Week LA 2020 as part of Neuehouse's Frieze Week Series in a double sold-out screening and in the Fall of 2021, and was inducted into RISD's (Rhode Island School of Design) permanent film library.
Elizabeth is also Executive Producer, Producer, Music Supervisor and co-star of Natalie Shirinian's short film, Hello Mother (Parev Mama) which won Best Short Film at 2021 NYC Big Apple Film Festival, Best Short Film 2021 Storytella LA, Audience Award at Hollyshorts 2022, Audience Award 2021 Honolulu Rainbow Film Festival, Official Selection NFLA and The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences, Official Selection 2021 Inside Out Film Festival (Canada's largest LGBTQIA+ film festival), Official Selection Film Out San Diego, Official Selection, Vancouver Queer Film Festival, Official Selection Shasha Films, and Official Selection Out on Film Connecticut. The film was also featured by Nowness and MovieMaker Magazine. Hello Mother (Parev Mama) also breaks ground as it's the first film to feature a queer Armenian female lead. The film is available to stream on iTunes and is currently part of Outfest's OUTMUSEUM.
In June 2023, Elizabeth premiered her short film, Breakup Text, the first film that she wrote and directed at the Academy Award Qualifying, 25th Provincetown International Film Festival with the West Coast premiere at the Academy Award and BAFTA Qualifying, LA Shorts International Film Festival. The trailer premiered on Nowness, as part of their NOWNESS Picks and NOWNESS Pride series.
MovieMaker Magazine calls Breakup Text "a heart-wrenching directorial debut," Surface Magazine writes "Gripping...Breakup Text prompts viewers to consider that heartbreak, particularly of the queer kind, might be not only an emotional but an audio-visual experience," and @godimsuchadyke reviews "[Breakup Text] is a raw and honest look at the grief we experience when we lose a person we love...it is as visually arresting as it is emotionally affecting in a space where our stories are rarely treated with this level of stunning nuance and thoughtfulness."
