Indo-British sports drama “A Game of Two Halves,” which tackles themes of identity crisis and racial dissonance, is set for a global bow in 2024.
Directed by British Asian filmmaker Khayam Khan (“Bus Ride”), the film is set across the U.K. and India. It chronicles the transformative, coming-of-age journey of Sanjay, a young British student who discovers his true self not amidst the academic pressures of a prestigious university, but on the dusty fields of Hyderabad, India, while teaching soccer to underprivileged children.

Mumbai, June 5 (Ians) One of India’s second generation of streaming shows ‘Sacred Games’ and ‘Mirzapur’ have emerged as the table toppers on the list of IMDb top 50 all-time most popular Indian web series.
Interestingly, both the shows belong to the genre of crime thrillers, a space that the Ott platforms aim to leverage and rightly so given the audience response to titles that have a good mix of crime and thrill. Crime genre occupies 30 out of 50 slots on the list.
Vikramaditya Motwane, showrunner and co-director of ‘Sacred Games’, said: “I’m absolutely honoured and delighted by the fact that ‘Sacred Games’ has been ranked at No. 1 by IMDb users. Indian media and entertainment company IN10 Media Network has launched its film division, MovieVerse Studios.
The film studio aims to “produce fresh and engaging content in Hindi and regional languages that connect with theatre-going audiences and those on streaming platforms,” the studio said in a statement.
The studio has revealed a diverse slate across genres. These include an action survival rescue drama based on a true story in partnership with Bake My Cake Films, a company headed by Sandeep Leyzell and Shobhna Yadav and which has hit films like “Batla House,” “Dasvi” and the upcoming “Tehran” to its credit. It will be directed by Umang Vyas.

Actor Barun Sobti, who recently wowed the audience with his acting skills in the thriller web series, "Asur: Welcome To Your Dark Side", says a lot changed after the success of the show.
In an interview to Ians, Barun opened up on how people changed their perception towards him and spoke about the need to raze the divide between television and the film industry.
"A lot has been changed after 'Asur'. Firstly, more work has started coming my way. People now recognize me as a different actor. Generally, many have this notion that ‘TV se hai, pataa nahi kar paayega yeh role ya nahi'. With 'Asur', I feel I have been able to tweak their mentality a bit," he said.
Barun, who rose to fame with his role in the TV show "Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?", also emphasized on how talented people work in the small screen industry.
