Disney Channel has cast “The Goldbergs” star Sean Giambrone and newcomer Sadie Stanley as the leads of its upcoming live-action “Kim Possible” movie, the network announced Wednesday.

An adaptation of the 2002 animated series, the movie follows a high school girl named Kim Possible (Stanley) who moonlights as a secret agent with the help of her friend/sidekick Ron Stoppable (Giambrone).

Written by original series creators Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley with Josh Cagan, the upcoming TV movie will be directed by Adam B. Stein and Zach Lipovsky.

“Sadie delivers Kim’s confidence, smarts, and agility; most importantly, she’s an everyday girl with an extraordinary spirit,” Disney Channel casting executive Judy Taylor said in a statement. “Sean is such a magnetic actor; he always finds the right balance of physical comedy and heart. We’re excited for audiences to see Sadie and Sean bring these iconic roles to life.”

Stanley has just one other credit to her name, a guest role on the Nick series “Game Shakers.” Giambrone is a series regular on ABC’s “The Goldbergs,” which has been renewed for a sixth season to air in the fall.

The actors are stepping in for original voice duo Christy Carlson Romano and Will Friedle, who appeared in a promo clip announcing the new cast alongside McCorkle and Schooley (below).
