Auston Johnson
Auston Johnson is the former Republican Utah State Auditor. He first took office in 1995 and served in the position until January 7, 2013. Johnson lost his bid for re-election in 2012. He was unseated by state rep. John Dougall (R) in the Republican primary on June 26, 2012.

Utah Auditor (1995-2013)
Johnson served as Utah state auditor from 1995 until 2013. He was succeeded on January 7, 2013 by fellow Republican John Dougall, a former state lawmaker, who thwarted Johnson's bid for re-election in the primary on June 26, 2012 and ultimately won election on November 6, 2012.

Johnson ran for re-election in 2012. He was defeated by state Rep. John Dougall in the Republican primary on June 26.
At the State Republican Party convention Johnson received 55 percent of delegate support to Dougall's 45 percent. Since neither candidate received the necessary 60 percent, they proceeded to a primary.[1]

On November 4, 2008, Auston Johnson won re-election to the office of Utah State Auditor. He defeated Clare Collard (D), Mike Stoddard (L) and Richard D. Proctor (C) in the general election.

Born and raised in Utah, Johnson and his wife, Mary, have three sons and three grandchildren. He served as a radioman in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1973.[3]
