Campaign themes

2016

Meeker's campaign website included the following positions:

Worker Safety We need stronger emphasis on worker safety through education and inspection in order to reduce the dozens of serious accidents and fatalities in our State every year.

Employee Classification Workers need to be correctly classified so they receive the benefits they’re entitled to. Employers who incorrectly classify workers as independent contractors gain an unfair competitive advantage.

Worker Payments When an employer fails to pay workers what they are owed, the Department of Labor needs to take decisive steps, whether through negotiations or court proceedings.[3][4]
