Biography

Parks is a native of Sacramento, California. Parks graduated from UCLA with a bachelor's degree in economics and, in 2007, an MBA.[1][2] Parks began working in the state auditor’s office in 1999 and over the years handled audits related to several state departments, including Corrections and Rehabilitation, Public Health, Education, Veterans Affairs, and the Secretary of State's Office. He also led teams auditing local government agencies such as the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, the Bay Area Rapid Transit, and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission. In 2016, Parks left the state auditor’s office to manage the audit office for the Judicial Council of California and held this position until appointed state auditor in 2023.[3][4]
