The Michigan Director of Natural Resources is a state executive position in the Michigan state government.
The director serves alongside the Michigan Natural Resources Commission, a seven-member public body appointed by the governor.[1]
As head of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, the director supervises the department, which is responsible for promoting outdoor recreational opportunities, wildlife and fisheries management, forest management, state land and minerals, state parks and recreation areas, and conservation and law enforcement.[1]
