Three young men represented Kalkaska at the State Finals at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan on Saturday, November 4, 2023 Gavin Guggemos placed 26th for All State (top 30) honors in 16:26.6, Camden Moore was 83rd in 17:13.2 (2nd fastest time of his career),and Adam Williams finished in 18:48.5 for 211th place. It was not the race he wanted, he felt off about a mile in. However, you can learn a lot about a person through adversity, and Adam handled his well, ultimately enjoying his last race of his high school career on the biggest stage. Well done, Adam. All three qualify for Academic All State honors. Smart! Great season for these boys and for Kalkaska Cross Country. Thanks to those who made it down to watch and cheered us on at home. We were held up on our way out of town by a cheeky swan. Gavin wanted to get it, but we said no! However, we did stop at Uncle John’s Cider Mill and he got to bounce with his sisters. Jackson Lumen
