SME has taken the technical lead in facilitating a multi-organizational effort to create a National Materials & Minerals Council (NMMC) and identifying the foundational reasons for why an entity such as the NMMC is needed. The concept is to help provide structure and guidance for a needed sector of the U.S. government on materials and minerals that would be beneficial in the end to the broad mining community that directly supports and enables the United States as a nation, our economy and our way of life.
