Quality assurance for delegated services

Healthplan. 1996 Sep-Oct;37(5):27-8, 30-1, 36.

Abstract

Delegation of specified administrative and quality assessment activities is an effective and cost-efficient alternative for many health plans. But regardless of which services are delegated or subdelegated, the health plan remains responsible and accountable for the quality of care and services provided to health plan members. Appropriate oversight and monitoring of delegated activities allows the health plan to ensure that the delegate meets the standards and goals of the health plan and assures a consistent, high standard of care.
