Abstract

As rheumatoid arthritis (RA) also affects women in the child-bearing years questions about interaction between the disease and a possible pregnancy are bound to arise. The article reviews the present knowledge of the influence of RA on fertility, inheritance, cause of pregnancy and its outcome, possible effect on the foetus and the disease post-partum and finally the treatment options before, during and after the pregnancy.
