Pathology of epithelial tumors

Hematol Oncol Clin North Am. 1992 Aug;6(4):739-60.

Abstract

The pathology of epithelial tumors is reviewed in this article, with particular emphasis on new information. Important new data of prognostic significance concerning tumors in the borderline group are emphasized, and the division of mucinous borderline tumors into two groups is discussed. Serous carcinomas of surface type are reviewed, which have recently been the subject of a great deal of study, as well as transitional cell carcinoma, a newly defined subtype of invasive cancer. Finally, the highly aggressive small cell carcinoma is briefly discussed.
