Renal artery pseudoaneurysm after laparoscopic partial nephrectomy

Urology. 2005 Nov;66(5):1109. doi: 10.1016/j.urology.2005.05.043.

Abstract

Delayed bleeding from a renal artery pseudoaneurysm is a rare occurrence after partial nephrectomy. We present 2 cases of renal artery pseudoaneurysm after laparoscopic partial nephrectomy. One patient presented with gross hematuria and flank pain and the other presented with flank pain and a decreasing hematocrit. The patients were treated with selective angioembolization of the pseudoaneurysm. The etiology and management of this potentially life-threatening condition are discussed.
