Abstract
Introduction:
Streptococcus pneumoniae primary peritonitis is rare. The diagnosis is uneasy and the treatment is not standardised.
Case report:
We report a single case of S. pneumoniae primary peritonitis needing surgical treatment.
Discussion:
S. pneumoniae primary peritonitis can be medically treated. Surgery is needed in case of sepsis, associated digestive injuries or failure of medical treatment.
