Bowel venous malformation associated with an aneurysm of the portal vein

Pediatr Radiol. 2007 Jul;37(7):714-6. doi: 10.1007/s00247-007-0500-7. Epub 2007 May 15.

Abstract

We report the unique association of a rectosigmoid venous malformation and an aneurysm of the portal vein in a 7-year-old child. Doppler ultrasonography allowed the diagnosis; MRI confirmed the diagnosis and demonstrated the extent of the abnormality. The treatment and evolution over a period of 6 years is recorded. The relationship between these two entities and treatment is discussed.
