Abstract

Modern air travel facilitates the importation of tropical diseases. We saw a 24-year-old man who returned from South America with cutaneous myiasis caused by larvae of the human botfly Dermatobia hominis. The larvae were expressed by pressure from 2 lesions, on the neck and the loin, and the pockets were disinfected with alcohol. They closed and healed completely with a day.
