Abstract

Objective: To report a case of successful pregnancy after conservative surgery for stage 1A endometrial cancer.

Design: Case report.

Setting: University hospital.

Patient(s): A 33-year-old woman who was diagnosed with stage IA endometrial cancer.

Intervention(s): Conservative surgery and chemotherapy.

Main outcome measure(s): Clinical outcome.

Result(s): After administering medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA) for 6 weeks, hysterofiberscopy showed that the restricted lesions still remained. A partial resection of the lesions was therefore performed. The patient delivered a girl by cesarean section after the surgery.

Conclusion(s): Conservative surgery after MPA treatment may be a new treatment option for patients who wish to preserve their fertility.
