Abstract

Treatment of trifluorovinyl- or pentafluoropropen-1-yl sulfone or sulfoxide, which are easily prepared from commercially available 1,2-dibromofluoroalkanes, with various organocuprates affords substitution or beta-reduction products in good to excellent yields through an addition-elimination reaction sequence.
