Nanostructure-initiator mass spectrometry metabolite analysis and imaging

Anal Chem. 2011 Jan 1;83(1):2-7. doi: 10.1021/ac101565f. Epub 2010 Nov 4.

Abstract

Nanostructure-Initiator Mass Spectrometry (NIMS) is a matrix-free desorption/ionization approach that is particularly well-suited for unbiased (untargeted) metabolomics. An overview of the NIMS technology and its application in the detection of biofluid and tissue metabolites are presented.
