MRI findings of Aspergillus spondylitis

AJR Am J Roentgenol. 2011 Nov;197(5):W919-23. doi: 10.2214/AJR.11.6786.

Abstract

Objective: The aim of this retrospective study is to report the MRI findings of biopsyproven Aspergillus spondylitis.

Conclusion: Aspergillus spondylitis should be suspected when multiple disk levels are involved with skip lesions or subligamentous spread on MRI. A serrated appearance of the vertebral endplates and subchondral T2 hypointensity are suggestive of Aspergillus spondylitis.
