Abstract

Chylothorax was complicated on the 10th postoperative day in a 66-year-old male who underwent left pneumonectomy with mediastinal lymph node dissection for squamous cell carcinoma of the lung. After the leakage point was determined by lymphangiogram and CT, fibrin gluing was performed via flexible fiberoptic thoracoscope. By this procedure the chylous fistulas were completely controlled. Application of fibrin glue through thoracoscope appeared very useful for the treatment of postoperative chylothorax.
