The authors report a retrospective study of 20 cases. The fixation of the fracture was performed by an external fixator in 19 of the 20 cases and in 1 case by a reamed nail. A second debridement was needed in half of the cases. The closure of the wound was achieved by a pedicular flap in 60% of the cases (fascio-cutaneous flap 10%, muscle flap 45%, cross-leg 5%) and by a free flap in 15% of the cases.A bone graft was necessary in 30% of the casesThe mean time to consolidation was 9 months.
