Urinary tract obstruction secondary to presacral teratoma: a missed diagnosis

J Urol. 1989 Oct;142(4):1047-9. doi: 10.1016/s0022-5347(17)38984-x.

Abstract

We describe 2 neonates with bladder outlet obstruction secondary to presacral teratoma. The clinical course and investigations are discussed to illustrate the errors made and difficulties experienced in making this diagnosis. The value of routine rectal examination in all neonates who present with lower urinary tract obstruction is stressed.
