This article reviews the varied process of transitioning and the psychosocial and quality-of-life benefits and outcomes of gender-affirmation therapeutic interventions, examines the barriers that transgender (TG) persons face in accessing health care, and describes the authors' experiences in improving access to medical services by launching a TG health care clinic and a service provider collaborative.
