Emergency abdominal surgery in patients with acute leukemia and lymphoma

Abstract

Seventeen cases of acute leukemia or lymphoma which required emergency surgery for acute abdominal pain, are reported. It is concluded that surgery in these patients should be performed whenever indicated because the mortality rate of medical treatment is around 100%.
