Optimizing cryopreservation of nasal polyp tissue for cellular functional studies and single-cell RNA sequencing

Int Forum Allergy Rhinol. 2024 May;14(5):972-976. doi: 10.1002/alr.23275. Epub 2023 Sep 23.

Abstract

Mast cell numbers were reduced in samples cryopreserved as whole tissue chunks. Thawed epithelial cells had reduced proliferation rates when preserved as dissociated cell suspensions. The right cryopreservation method to choose may depend on the goals and cell-type focus of the project.

Keywords: eosinophilic rhinitis and nasal polyposis; innate immunity; paranasal sinus diseases; rhinosinusitis.
