Abstract

Many women with bladder cancer are still diagnosed too late. Therefore, especially in the family practice: keep an eye out for women with hematuria and recurrent bladder infections! One reason for the delayed diagnosis in women compared with men is that women with urinary symptoms such as burning on urination or blood in the urine are often treated for urinary bladder infections. They receive antibiotics unchecked and repetitively for recurrent complaints.
