Sensitivity of non-human cells to human lymphocyte 'proliferation inhibitory factor' (PIF) in vitro

Clin Exp Immunol. 1973 Nov;15(3):435-44.

Abstract

The inhibitory activity of PIF has been examined on eight different non-human cell lines and compared with four human cell lines. By three separate assay methods, it has been demonstrated that PIF prepared from human peripheral blood lymphocytes acts in a species specific manner and does not inhibit the replication of non-human cells in tissue culture.
