Case report: saccular aneurysm of the azygos vein simulating a paratracheal tumour

Clin Radiol. 1993 Dec;48(6):427-8. doi: 10.1016/s0009-9260(05)81114-6.

Abstract

We present a case of a large saccular aneurysm arising from the azygos arch in an asymptomatic 62-year-old man. Chest radiography showed a well-defined right paratracheal mass. Dynamic computed tomography revealed marked enhancement of the mass suggesting a vascular structure, but no flow void was demonstrated on magnetic resonance imaging, probably due to slow turbulent flow.
